Carrot Seed Oil - Why Carrot Seed Oil is better for your skin than eating carrots.
This week we are moving onto Carrot Seed Oil, another super ingredient used to make our best seller Organic rejuvenating facial oil.
Maybe not as well-known as rosehip oil but this is an essential oil to get to know, as it is packing in so many great skin benefits.
But – let me first clear up a common misconception regarding carrot seed oil. Cause, it’s not what you might be thinking. Could my supermarket carrots be this amazing?! Well, they’re certainly healthy, but Carrot seed oil is not made from your typical carrot, and carrot oil and carrot seed oil are not the same.
The seeds used to make carrot seed oil come from the wild carrot plant called daucus carota. Its origins go back to Egypt, France and India. The seeds are dried and crushed and through steam distillation an essential oil full of therapeutic benefits is extracted.
It has a soothing, warm, earthy aroma and has antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties. It moisturizes, nourishes and rejuvenates your skin and helps prevent aging by supporting in the process of cell regenerations. Fine lines become less visible, the appearance of age spots diminish, and it helps smooth wrinkles.
It's even been recommended for hair. A few drops and you’ve provided your hair with nourishments and antioxidants to keep it shine and protect it from environmental damages.
Sounds excellent, right?
A recent NCBI study has found that carrot seed oil has amazing skin revitalizing properties. It gives skin a firmer fresher appearance and as its rich in antioxidants, it helps to keep skin looking youthful and fresh.
While intensely nourishing, this oil is also anti-fungal to help ward off cracking in the corners of the mouth and yeast infections on the lips.
Another benefit to Carrot seed oil is that it promotes a sense of well-being. When diffused it has a therapeutic effect which can relieve feelings of anxiety, fatigue and stress and I know we could all do with a bit more calm right now.

For a not so well know oil, carrot seed oil truly has some wonderful benefits, who knows maybe in a couple years it will be as popular as Rosehip nonetheless we believe its star ingredient in its own right.
